Tissue Processor

Client: Rushabh Instruments LLC, Warrington, PA

The client is a contract manufacturer of medical laboratory instruments with in-house electronics and control systems engineering capabilities. Triumph supplied all the mechanical design and drafting services to create the manufacturing documents for this tissue processor. The instrument is an automated system that an operator loads with tissue samples. The samples are then immersed in various reagents stored in containers located in a revolving carousel following a specific protocol. There are also features to heat, cool, and evacuate the sample during immersion. Triumph designed and sized the three motion systems, the electronics packaging, the peristaltic vacuum pump, and the enclosure and access lid. Triumph specified the step motors, thermoelectric heaters/coolers, and fume control fans.
