AutoCAD Automation

Triumph helped a client company that sells machine vision systems to improve the productivity of their Applications Engineering group by automating the process used to generate customer outline drawings. The company uses AutoCAD to create drawings that show the placement of their products in their customers’ pharmaceutical production lines. This is a value-added service to their customers that takes a significant amount of time for the applications engineers to search for a similar drawing to use as a template, and then edit the drawing manually to represent the new configuration.

Triumph engineers created generic templates for all the common applications in AutoCAD, then used the Visual Basic for Applications programming environment to create a user interface that speeds entry of the critical dimensions. A unique drawing is then generated for transmittal to their customer.
